أحد أهم الأسماء اللامعة في سيرة التصوير بفلسطين هو المصور إيليا قهوجيان (1910 – 1999) الذي قدم طفلاً من تركيا ضمن الأطفال الأرمن المهجرين عام 1915.
كان إيليا أحد الأيتام الذين جمعتهم “المؤسسة الأمريكية للإغاثة في الشرق الأدنى” وأخذتهم إلى لبنان، ومن ثم إلى مدينة الناصرة الفلسطينية، رغب، منذ طفولته، أن يصبح مصورًا فوتوغرافيًا، وتعلم على أيدي الأستاذين كريكوريان وتومايان، وعندما قدم إلى القدس، انبهر بالمواقع التاريخية والمناظر الطبيعية، وقرر تكريس نفسه للفوتوغرافيا.

One of the most prominent names in the history of photography in Palestine is the photographer Ilya Kahwajian (1910 – 1999), who presented a child from Turkey among the displaced Armenian children in 1915.
Elijah was one of the orphans collected by the American Foundation for Near East Relief and took them to Lebanon, and then to the Palestinian city of Nazareth. Since his childhood, he wanted to become a photographer, and he learned from Professors Krikorian and Toumayan, and when he came to Jerusalem, he was fascinated by the historical sites. and landscapes, and decided to devote himself to photography.
