ذكرت قناة “إن.دي.تي.في” التلفزيونية الهندية أن ما لا يقل عن 15 شخصا بينهم 10 نساء و3 أطفال لقوا حتفهم السبت، عندما سادت حالة من الفوضى بين ركاب تزاحموا لركوب قطارين تأخرا عن موعدهما في محطة للسكك الحديدية في العاصمة نيودلهي.
وقع الحادث في حوالي الساعة الثامنة بالتوقيت المحلي (14:30 بالتوقيت العالمي) على رصيفين بينما كان الركاب ينتظرون الصعود على متن القطارين المتجهين إلى مدينة براياجراج التي تستضيف مهرجانا.
